I have to say, I’m really into this game. Archmage’s work always impresses me. Plus, he really knows how to please the people on Scratch. What are two things that the scratch community loves? Platform games (which has been made painfully evident over the past few weeks) and creating stuff (why else would they be on scratch?). Put those two together, and you have a sure fire plan for success.
This isn’t the first time Archmage has made this sort of project. About a year ago, he came out with a similar project that had the same idea, but with a different, drawing based system. If I remeber corectly, it made it onto the top loved list, just like this one. The problem with that one was its lack of organization and its hard to use interface. This game solves both of those problems, using a block based system as opposed to a pen based one.
Archmage had this to say about his project.
“Well I started thinking about this when someone showed me an array based level editor in flash. So I thought that since scratch has lists now (AKA arrays) I could make some sort of level editor like this one.”
Very innovative, and fun to use! Great job, Archmage!

AGENT NACHO SPY

Project Type: Game-Platform

Agent Nacho Spy is a classic example of what makes a game well liked. Frankly, in terms of code, the game is really nothing special. Its just a simple multi-level platform game. What makes it unique is the fact that its, well, unique. How many other projects are there out there about a corn chip spy taking down a… brick thing? I’m not really sure.
Anyway, one of the games main streagths is game play. Its simple, and easy to figure out. It even has a story line! Kinda.
This game shows that you don’t need something fancy to get on the top loved list. All you really need is a funny thing that will make its users smile.
